Hyundai Santa FE

Santa FE no longer on the Scheme as of January 1st 2017 Due to Pricing Cap being introduced

Hyumdai Santa Fe motability car sideThe Hyundai Santa FE Motability Car is a large four wheel drive SUV that is available with five or seven seats, we would recommend the seven seat version as it comes with ‘self levelling suspension’ – the seven seat version is a £1200 option at retail but is the same advance payment on Motability. The Santa FE is four wheel drive only but due to the fully automated system it will drive as a front wheel drive car until the extra grip is required, it also has a deferential lock that can be engaged when the going becomes particularly testing.

Hyumdai Santa Fe motability car dashThe Santa FE is fitted with ‘Flex Steer’ which allows you to adjust the steering settings to suit the type of environment you’re in which means that for such a large car the steering can be incredibly light, ideal for those that need a big car but can’t shift a heavy steering wheel. Space is excellent, albeit the rear seats are only comfortable for little ones, the boot is an excellent 585 litres, a Nissan X-Trail is 550 litres and a Honda CR-V wins with 589 litres of boot space.

Hyumdai Santa Fe motability car cut awayThe Santa FE is only available in Premium trim to Motability customers so their is no panoramic glass roof or xeon lights of the Premium SE model but you do get as standard 18-inch alloy wheels, tinted rear windows, LED daytime running lights, automatic headlights, Bluetooth phone connection, air-conditioning, cruise control, leather seats and a touchscreen sat-nav system.

The Santa FE is a heavyweight vehicle, it can tow 2500kg as a manual or 2000kg as an automatic, the sole 2.2 CRDi diesel delivers 194bhp and a whopping 436Nm of torque, compare this to the 1.6 litre diesel in the X-trail with 128bhp and 320Nm of torque and you can see you have a very powerful unit under the bonnet, it’s capable of taking the Santa FE to 62mph in 9.8 seconds and economy is acceptable for such a big car; the six speed manual offers a claimed 47.9 mpg and as a six speed automatic 41.5 mpg. The Honda CR-V 1.6 litre diesel 158bhp with 350Nm of torque is paired to a super smooth 9 speed automatic that can return 55.4 miles per gallon but only has a towing weight of 1500kg.
