The 2018 Volkswagen Polo is a 5 door hatchback, for the first time there is no 3 door Polo being produced, If you like cut of the VW Golf but wanted something a little smaller and easier to park, the new Polo is the car for you.
There is so much to like about the new Polo, the build quality in particular stands out as does the size, the boot at 351 litres makes it a match for the Ford Focus let alone the Ford Fiesta. The only complaint that can be levied at the Polo is that its sister car, the Seat Ibiza has a little more kerbside va va voom and to Mobility customers a wider choice of trim lines and engines.
To Mobility Customers three trim lines are available; ‘S’, ‘SE’ ‘SE-L’ and ‘R-Line’, The entry level car is well equipped with an 8 inch touchscreen, DAB radio, Bluetooth connectivity, air conditioning, automatic headlights, and Front assist with pedestrian monitoring and automatic Post-Collision Braking System. The SE, which is the pick, adds 15 inch alloy wheels, electrically heated and adjustable door mirrors, leather trimmed multifunction steering wheel and Carplay/Android Auto. SE-L adds 16 inch Alloys , front and rear parking sensors and climate control, The sporty R-Line has 16 inch grey alloy’s, R Line styling LED tinted rear lights clusters, tinted glass from B-pillar backwards and electrically heated, adjustable and foldable door mirrors.
The engine range is limited for Mobility customers this quarter, the only engine avaialble is a 1.0 litre three-cylinder petrol with either 94bhp or 108bhp, the turbocharged 94bhp version can return a claimed 64.2 mpg and hit 62 miles per hour in very respectable 10.8 seconds as a five speed manual or seven speed DSG automatic. The 108bhp car has six manual gears (or 7 speed DSG) and can reach 62 in 9.5 seconds and still return 60.1 miles per gallon.
Prices have shot up other the last two Quarters, the Seat Ibiza is a much better value offering, or even the bigger VW Golf offers better pricing.
There is no Polo we can recommend due to sky high pricing, despite pricing being reduced for Q2 2021 by £150. Prices start at £449 Advance payment
