Peugeot 308 SW (estate)

Removed from Scheme 1st April 2014, New 308 SW Summer 2014

The Peugeot 308 SW (Estate to me and you) offers space in abundance, an excellent driving position, a diesel engine that can return 62.8 miles per gallon and it is available without an advance payment. The 308 SW is all about space, the car does not have the aerodynamic shape adopted by most of its rivals instead the car remains high roofed to the rear, this leads to the boot being perfect for carrying wheelchairs and pushchairs, it also means that it is possible to have the 308 SW as a seven seater, sadly this option is not cost effective for mobility customers.

The Peugeot 308 SW is available in three trims for mobility customers, Access, Active and Allure, the fleet targeting SR is sadly not available. The entry level Access comes with air conditioning, front and rear electric windows, CD Radio, power steering, 60 40 folding rear seats, remote central locking with deadlocks, steering wheel reach and rake adjustment (it moves in and out as well as up and down) and six smart airbags (the 308 also has the maximum 5 star NCAP crash safety award), move up to the Active for a glass panoramic roof, cruise control, tinted rear windows, alloy wheels, bluetooth connection, automatic headlights and wipers and three independent rear seats as well as the (costly) option to add two extra seats, the Allure adds half leather upholstery, rear parking sensors and climate control.

The 308 SW is available with six different engine choices, three diesel and three petrol, the pick of these is the 1.6 litre diesel as a 5 speed manual with 92 brake horse power or the excellent 112 brake horse power unit with a six speed Manual or semi-Automatic but where this engine excels is in fuel economy, both versions offer 62.8 miles per gallon, even as a semi automatic, the engine offers excellent performance too, 0-62 miles per hour in 13.5 seconds with 92 bhp or 11.9 seconds with 112 bhp.

We would like to recommend the 112 bhp powered 1.6 litre diesel in Active trim but it’s a bit pricey, however the excellent 92 bhp version in Access trim with a manual gearbox offers tremendous value.
