New Motability Prices

Motability prices change every 3 months, next change is 1st January 2015

The Quarter 1 (Winter) price period from January to March coincides with both the quietest month of the year for car sales as well as the busiest, in 2014 the first three months of the year 688,122 new cars were registered, surprisingly January is a buoyant month with 154,562 cars sold last year, February is very quiet with sales of only 68,736 new cars registered but in March 2014 there was a whopping 464,824 new cars registered, up 18% on 2013 and the busiest March since 2004. What we have seen historically in Q1 pricing is the big Motability players of Ford, Nissan and Vauxhall tempting customers to their brand by offering some discounts, Vauxhall have the new Corsa to promote, Ford have the new Focus, the face-lifted Kuga and the new Mondeo (should be joining in January), Nissan have the new Pulsar but sadly the X-Trail will remain off the list for a further Quarter. We hope to see some good discounts but only a splattering of new cars:

New Ford Mondeo

New Ford Mondeo

We may have been waiting nearly three years for the new Mondeo, delays have seen the release pushed back repeatedly, but it is finally here.  It is better built, better looking, bigger and crucially contains all the latest touch screen technology. Built in Spain alongside the Face-lifted Kuga, which debuted the new engines prior to the launch of the Mondeo, the 1.5 ecoboost petrol and the Euro 6 2.0 litre diesels with 150 or 180 bhp. The Mondeo is an important car and while it’s launch may not be the event it once was this new car will eat up the miles in comfort. We hope to see prices starting around the £795 Advance Payment figure.

BMW 2 Series Active Tourer

BMW 2 Series Active Tourer

The BMW 2 Series active Tourer has been on sale since 16th May 2014 and first deliveries made on 27th September, we feel it is therefore time that it joined the Scheme and the rumours suggest it could be now. The front wheel drive MPV based on the BMW owned Mini platform has been well received by the press and will offer excellent competition for the Mercedes B Class and the Citroen C4 Picasso. Expect prices to start above £1500 Advance Payment.

hyundai-i20 motability car

Hyundai i20

Looking like a mini Citroen C4 Picasso (which is not a bad thing) the Hyundai i20 will compete against the Ford Fiesta and Volkswagen Polo.  Given Hyundai’s aggressive pricing and the increased size (40mm longer, 16mm lower and 24mm wider) the i20 will be a welcome addition and will attract a Nil or minimal Advance Payment.

New Audi Q3 available now

New Audi Q3 available now

The 2015 Audi Q3 has a new front grille, revised bumpers and new-look alloy wheels, on the inside a new steering wheel, different seats and some updated safety options.  All engines are Euro 6 compliant with more power and increased consumption, the new 1.4 litre petrol has the ability to shut down up to two of the four cylinders in order to preserve fuel but can still offer 150bhp and a 0-62 time of 9.2 seconds as a six speed manual or six speed twin clutch automatic.

New Volkswagen Passat

New Volkswagen Passat

The new Passat is going toe to toe with the new Mondeo, Volkswagen are being their guarded selves and we doubt that the quarter will start with the Passat on the Scheme.

The Motability prices are reviewed every three months, 1st January 2015 will see the Quarter 1 ‘Winter’ Prices released, we will update you on all the movements (up and down) on this page, we will continue to post the War Pension prices alongside the DLA/PIP prices. WPMS weekly payments are presently £63.40 per week compared to £56.75 for DLA/PIP therefore these prices are generally £1000 less than those of DLA/PIP.  Even with this extra award there are no more cars available to War Pensioners. Every movement up or down on the previous price can be tracked with our little arrows. means the price has increased (if you place your mouse on the arrow you can see by how much the price has increased) and if the price has decreased you will see a green arrow Price reduced from previous quarter price or is there is no change in price the arrows will be side by side .
