Automobile Dacia is a Romanian car company, owned by Renault since 1999, that produce budget cars that are proving very popular across Europe, 164 000 new Dusters were sold in 2011 and from January 2013 Dacia will have cars on UK streets.
The Duster is the car that has catapulted the fortunes of Dacia, similar in size to a Nissan Qashqai+2, but without the third row of seats the Duster is available in either two or four wheel drive, the entry level car with a petrol engine is available to order for £8995 and the Diesel from £11495.
We hope the Duster will be a motability car in the new year and it would be great addition as we would expect it to be available without an advance payment. Sadly there is no Automatic Duster and only a five speed Manual as a petrol and a six speed Manual as a Diesel.
We will run a full test on the Duster once it is confirmed as a Mobility car.

I just had to see what all the hype was about with regards to the Dacia Duster so I went along to my local dealership in Blackburn to check it out. I was pleasantly surprised with the layout and equipment on offer. The only downside was that the thickness of the body panels appear to be a shade thinner than your average ‘bread & butter’ motor (the doors seemed very light when being operated) but after saying that, it might be beneficial to some people having lighter doors and that was the only negative that I could find without giving it the ’3rd degree on a test drive’. Look forward to it being included on the Motability scheme and would love the 4×4 Duster with the diesel unit under the bonnet.

Just changed my Motability car on 10.8.2012…from Citroen C4 Grand Piccasso Automatic 1.6D, to the Nissan Quashcai 1.5D, in both instances i had to pay £250 or thereabouts Advance Payment…when next i am due to change my car i woud be really interested in the Dacia Duster 4×4, looks a lovely vehicle in the Video….Well done Dacia and come on Motability, lets see this vehicle available on the Motability Scheme sooner rather than later, and with little or no Advance Payment….Citroen, Ford, Vauxhall and Nissan take note, if Dacia can make an affordable 4×4, then why cant you lot…Again, Well Done Dacia

The Automatic Duster is in high demand globally, in some territories the Duster is badged as a Renault and some of these markets have the option of a four speed automatic gearbox, the official line from Dacia is : “We will launch the automatic Duster as soon as the market is ready for it. We are working on this. We are studying the market and the customer’s demands.” Dacia are in a position where demand for their cars is so high that they can phase in the Automatic at their leisure, as 84% of cars sold privately in the UK are ordered with a manual gearbox Dacia can afford to wait, sadly.

Sadly there is not an Automatic version of the Duster it is only available with a manual gearbox.

juast had an answer back from Dacia on their facebook page and i quote “Sorry Neil, it’s not available on the Motability scheme at the moment”
